So I moved right next to a college (I don't go to college) in my city and I got back into photography about a month again. Really been into portraits. For the last 3 weeks I'd go out maybe 3 times a week and just walk around campus + surrounding areas and if I see anyone interesting, I go up and ask them to take a photo. Some days I pussy out and don't ask anyone, sometimes I ask like 4. I've only been rejected once but that was probably because I came at them the wrong way.
I've been posting them on my IG and tagging them. All of it has been positive so far. I've done two free mini photo shoots with some girls. As of right now, I feel my weakness is definitely posing.
I guess my question is, is this good practice, exposure and networking for me? I enjoy doing it and would like to get into paid portrait photography in the future.
My camera is a SL2 and I just got my Tamron 85mm 1.8 last week and have loved using that so far.
