>>3759274Unless you're including objects close to the camera you do not need to worry about parallax. In theory you can free hand panoramas but a tripod yields cleaner results with less photos taken. If you're shooting landscapes you're generally shooting at slower speeds so you will want a tripod anyway. You rotate the camera taking pictures that should overlap at least a third (focus points work wonders as reference points for this on dslrs). You can the pictures in portrait or landscape though you generally use a camera orientation that will match that of the final panorama. You can also stack multiple rows of images as long as you keep 1/3 overlap ruling going.
You then load them into your panorama program of choice. LR, ACR, PS all have decent stichers. For awhile Hugin had the best stitcher but I have idea if Adobe has caught up yet.
