If you go the abstract route you need to add something to your composition to balance the confusion, something basic like symmetry or color that will hold the viewer's attention. Your flower photo has neither and doesn't make me want to look at it long enough to figure out what it is.

Grain from a high ISO can't be taken away (without compromising other things) so you really should avoid it as much as possible.
