>>3721101>HOW DO I STOP CARING ABOUT GEAR>HOW DO I START TAKING MORE PHOTOSHOW DO I BREAK OFF THE SHACKLES ON CONSUMERISM
First ask yourself why you want to do photography anyway.
You have been conditioned from birth to be a good little consumer-junkie. All those shiny adverts and tantalising spec sheets are just pushers who want to hook you deeper and deeper. To impoverish you by making you ever more dependent on them.
But gear is just the tools you use to pursue the thing you should really be caring about. You identify the tools you NEED to do the job. Of course you acquire the best your budget will allow, but having done that you turn your attention to the production of fine photographs. Forget gear, concentrate on the true object of your obsession.
But if your obsession with gear is greater than you obsession with producing great images you are a lost cause.
