Not everyone really has it in them to hike to such remote areas, sometimes in unfavorable weather, and getting up super early with such heavy equipment to photograph scenes like this. Much less doing it with a camera so highly technical and expensive to shoot on. He's really dedicated to his craft, and it shows.

That doesn't make him worse - being among the best doesn't make you any less great at what you do. And of course, being able to attach a name to somebody you can look up and follow is a lot better when talking about this stuff.
