Still looking for a Hotshoe cable for my G85 in its cage. Went to a photostore. they had a radar-transmitter that fitted ont he hotshoe with no problem, it had no fastening ring like most stuff that goes onto hot/cold shoes. still, it's not a good solution

I got a very specific problem:
I use my G85 mostly for video and for that I have a cage for it. The cage itself doesnt obstruct or use the Hot Shoe but it starts directly at its edge (see pic). I often take pictures at parties with a flash for my friends and family. and then I have to get the camera out of the cage, which is a huge hassle every time.
So I am looking for a hotshoe cable that doesnt need any space ontop of the hotshoe or at least in front of it. Are there cables that clip into the hotshoe like these tiny plastic covers that come with the camera?

Damn, forgot to mention:

I often have my Camera in this cage for videowork and getting it out is a pain. The Hotshoe is not used to fix the cage, but I can't get anything to fit on there either way, because the cage ends too close to it. is there a superflat cable to transfers the information to the Flash so I can mount it on one of the coldshoes?
The pop-up flash unfolds a tiny bit and it COULD be enough to set off an optical slave flash but I don't know for certain
