I'm in an intro to photography class and we got an assignment to try using the macro settings on our cameras (the flower on the mode dial) and I'd like to know, what does this actually do? Does it apply some post processing effects to make it look more macro? Is it just setting the iso/aperture/shutter to settings it thinks will give the most macro effect? Could I shoot the exact same photo in manual that I could in this macro mode?
