But for $10 it was a cheap way to experiment with telephoto. And now I've learned some of my better shots are at telephoto length I figure it's time to upgrade since the vivitar limited how much I could zoom into my shots before they started looking muddy

The local shop said he didn't do vintage lenses anymore, and KEH would be $300 plus.
So I'll probably give it some time and decide later if it's worth sending it in.
