I've been in the Highlands the last couple of days and it's just dawned on me that I don't really think there's anywhere else quite as pretty. Yeah the mountains aren't that high and there are no beautiful temples or tropical animals, or much colour at all for that matter. But there's a homeliness and a familiarity which makes it all the more attractive.
