Bottom row of pic is a FF sensor with older/inferior electronics resulting in higher read noise versus a better tech/lower read noise APS-C sensor, roughly the same resolution (26mp vs 24mp) at the same magnification. Which has more noise? Why, the FF has less noise. Why? Because the noise is mostly shot noise and the only way to reduce that is to collect more photons.
