>>3820877Update on this, Panasonic Lumix ZS100. I have a job that requires taking a lot of photos so that helped justify my purchase, this is amazing for that purpose. It's extremely fast on the autofocus and the snap, the zoom is fast, the photos always look great and crisp, the 1" sensor allows for big beautiful shots.
As an artistic camera, it's a compromise from a proper APS-C DSLR, obviously. It kicks the shit out of my phone (Pixel 3a, one of the better phone cameras when it was released), and it's effortless to take it everywhere, so it's now my Camera That You Have On You camera, but I was hoping to sell my DSLR and just roll with this, and now I'm not so sure. The convenience is unbeatable but the performance just isn't quite what I'm used to and I was hoping I wouldn't notice. But that's literally an obvious compromise, it's not exactly a secret. That's what this kind of camera is. So we'll see if I sell my DSLR or keep it around. I still want to see what this camera is capable of.
It's a step above a point and shoot or a phone, for sure. And despite worse zoom I'd call this a step above a 1/2.3" long zoom bridge camera, having used two of them before. This camera is better even with less zoom. But it's a step below a Micro 4/3rds too. It's exactly what you would expect, that's my review. It won't surprise you but it lives up to your expectations if they are in check. And it's more than useable.
The Camera That You Have On You aspect is great though because I'm getting so many random shots I would have otherwise missed.
