fourth mistake: I got about 10 photos in before I finally figured out why everything was so dark. I had an ND filter on. I don't even know how I overlooked it when I realized I had the wrong lens. I ended up keeping it on to ensure some consistency between my snapshits, but fortunately the a7s handles high ISOs very well

tl;dr: make sure you get a full night of sleep or else you'll be extra dumb for the day, and don't be lazy when grabbing your gear
