>>4140044Yeah it's for a photo zine I made.
>>4140070Literally every single printer I have been to has told me they will not accept an RGB file. I have spoken to about 20+ at this point.
>The RGB to CYMK conversion is done internally by the printer RIP.I confronted the current printer about this and like the post reads they revert back to "it must be in cmyk". From what I gather this is for security purposes or something so I cant claim they messed up the colours. I am in the uk so maybe there are different rules here.
>These are called rendering intents. Its basically how the software handles colors that the printer can produce. Again, your lab will handle this. If you're printing at home, relative colorimetric is the best option imoExcept they aren't. My choices are to convert it at home first or to get them to convert it and the proof I get back is really shitty. My work is mostly night time phototgraphy and after they convert it most of the pictures are barely visible.
>If you want to make b/w prints. Its best to save your files in RGB working space, and completely desaturate them, instead of using grey space. The reason for this is bc the gamma is different between spaces, and you'll want keep the gamma 2.2 between all your prints.I'm not looking to print black and white it is an option in the conversion software I'm using. See pic related.
I downloaded a book on print colour conversion but it is also 450 pages. I wasn't expecting to put this amount of work into printing a single document honestly. It will be good knowledge for future reference but for the time being it's dragging out what i thought would be simpler.
