The only difference I see between your picture and most of those google search results is that you blew out your highlights and they all edited their pictures. You do have a lot of dynamic range in that scene, between the right hand cliff face and the sun, but you could have just blended multiple exposures if you wanted to keep shadow detail. I have a worse camera than you though so maybe that's just me coping but I don't think so.
