Hello /p/! I have this aspiration of creating a bootleg ass box camera. Right now I have three shitty cameras ('anny 44' and two separate instamatics) and want to combine the three into a workable 35mm 'box' camera. None of the cameras shoot 35mm, but between the three I have the some cool components:
- one easily detached lens (from the anny 44)
- an aperture controlled by a teeny level (pictured)
- one nice knurled knob
- one fantastic feeling film advance lever from one of the instamatics
From what I can see right now, I need to make a light-tight box that can fit the best lens of the three, and that lens has to be a particular distance from the film plane. I need to get a way to load, advance, secure, and unload 35mm film within said light-tight box. the aperture unit needs to fit within the light-tight box as well. Also, I'll need a shutter, and if things go really really well, a way to control the shutter speed. I'm not too shabby with SolidEdge and have 3-D printing experience; I intend to 3-D print the light-tight box and use plastic to fit the jumbled pieces together.
Please critique and inform me of what I've got wrong about this, I'm super eager to learn. More pics and updates to follow, ty kindly.
