All right, which tier should I go for? They're all different, but still would fit my style of photography (landscapes in the mountains, travel snapshit).
- Prices are Japan second-hand market, more or less (will pick up gear in Map Camera/Lemon/Fujiya while traveling over there. The BoJ better not fuck anything up, I need that sweet low JPY to stay where it is).
- Currently using an a6300 with quite a few lenses, but generally speaking, when hiking in the mountains I only take my comfy Samyang 12mm f2 + the 18-105 F4 G. I add the Sony 35mm f1.8 (which has a tad too much reach for my taste already) when I'm just traveling/sightseeing like I'll do while in Japan.
- Body will be a7c (II), I won't budge on that.
- Realistically speaking, I should aim for the blue tier. I have a hard time justifying splurging too much money considering what I do. Yet I'm severely lacking in a decent zoom (I use zooms the most). The kit zoom is a cope solution, but not so bad all things considered. Another cope solution would be to keep using my 18-105 F4, at least I'll get decent enough reach due to crop mode. For primes, the 40mm f2.5 G could be considered in place of the Sigma (a tad longer focal range than I'd want, but dat sweet aperture ring...)
- Green setup is honestly all I need, but god damn I'd rather want that sweet 20mm f1.8G (the 20-70mm already covers its focal range, which is why I put in the Viltrox, still a good lens)
- The Yellow tier is the one the closest to my current setup, offering more versatility for photos at night while in the city, and also offering more reach which is useful in the mountain (though I could live by cropping from a regular zoom that just goes to 70mm).
- The purple is kind of a dream setup. Hard time justifying the price, but it's only while in Japan that I could get that sweet zoom lens for such a relatively "low" price compared to Euroland. If I'm being realistic, I'd get the Sigma 24-70. But goddamn, did I say I fucking love aperture rings?
