I ordered two cheap Ultimaxx variable ND filters for two different lenses but after spending my whole day reading reviews and watching videos, it just left me more confused than anything else. I almost bought a K&F 2-in-1 47mm filter that's ND and CPL for my wide angle but didn't know if I should spend $45. CPL is said to not be good for wide angle so I didn't bother paying high for it, and one video showed it cast a brown hue, but I can correct that although it still made me question it. I also bought a separate Tiffen 49mm CPL for my 50mm 1.8 since that should be a safe purchase. I only spent $36 on three filters that had high reviews, but I wonder if I should've started off going higher.
My question is, which CPL filters has anyone here liked for wide angle landscapes and were they successful for you?
I've bought Vivitar in the past as my first filters and noticed quality loss, which should be no surprise given they're super cheap, while my Bower UV filter causes chromatic aberration. My Tiffen UV filter seems fine but the others were getting too pricey for me so I went with Ultimaxx as they were around $10 and have 10% off. I live near the beach and the sun is intense, so I want a light ND to cut highlights and protect against sea spray which mists a residue on my filters. I want something good but high end filters are mad expensive, so I hope I didn't go too cheap.
tl;dr
