>>3563432It was some random forest in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Similar stuff there for sure.
>>3563433Absolutely not. As
>>3563434 mentioned, it becomes much more about making YouTube content then about creating images. You can look at nearly every photographer who has focused on YouTube, their portfolio will always suffer and usually quite significantly. The world already has a fantastic Ben Horne and doesn't need another one. God knows he already has enough copycats.
Creating good stills takes a lot of my concentration, effort, and time. I'd hate to lose that focus. That's not to say I'll never do anything on YouTube, but I'd rather focus on images and also on educational material. I feel that written word and imagery is far more timeless than video. It's easy to pick out video that is ten years old, but hard to do the same with quality images or writing. I've always been about focus. You spread yourself too thin over too many disciplines and something will always suffer. Good question though, people have been asking me about the YouTube potential on nearly a daily basis for a few years now. On top of that, I don't really like YouTube. I'd be surprised if I watch more than 2 or 3 hours of it in an entire year.
>>3563437Backpacking trips are planned out with a topo map, sometimes with road trips I just hit the road for a general region and wander. I don't really want to just go to the hot spots so I get a little lax on location research. I'd rather feel it out in person when I get there. I think it'd be good to share a bit about what goes on behind the scenes, but I'd like to find a way to do so that isn't like vlogging.
Developed a good bit of negative sheets today, I'll try to get a drum of them scanned tomorrow.
