One option could be to start out with a body only and a prime, not bothering with the kit zoom, and saving up for the wide and long lenses.
I got the kit 16-80mm because I didn't know exactly where I wanted my middle prime, if not primes. Using it I've found myself gravitating towards 35mm, so that will be my main prime.
