You can get great price/performance manual prime lenses from TTartisan or buy an m42 adapter for $5 and slap $15-$40 premium vintage German glass on there.
Good tripods, rigs, screen protectors and so on can be bought from China for 1/3 of the price.
"Soul" isn't a concept that you can apply to modern digital cameras.
Your lens influences the result but there isn't much play here unless you get some really exotic stuff like from Meyer Optik or some chink CCTV lens.
Of course there's always the fan boy shit flinging about different brands getting different results using factory settings, which I don't get since perceived flaws are easily fixed in post.
AF, ISO and sensor sensitivity of course are a factor though, but not at all relevant for a person who just wants to look at the photos on their computer screen or maybe print a 60x40cm image as a novelty since cameras have become so good on average.
For example:
The photos I take with the a6000 have pretty flat colors and low contrast in my opinion, so I took 2 minutes to create a preset in my editing program to fix every image with one click. Two of my friends really like the default look and don't understand why I do this, so there is a subjective aspect to it also.
Alternatively one could use the internal customizable presets like I did here just now in a matter of minutes.
Editing the RAWs in post gives you much more freedom though.
