>>4013825This is a project that I want to publish at some point so I don't want to dump much. I hope you'll understand. I don't recommend trying this out without spending a ton of time in safer places getting used to street photography. You really want to get a feel for people, avoiding attention, and knowing hoe to keep yourself safe before you start photographing people in rougher areas. Particularly people doing illegal things. Street smarts really is a thing. I've managed to hold on to my gear, keep my car, and keep all my blood in my body despite a few robbery attempts over the years because I'm really careful about how I do things. It takes time to get gear necessary but it is just a matter of time. Save even just 50 bucks a month and in a couple years you can get your hands on a good camera and a pro level lens. You will be somewhere two years from now. The question is whether or not you'll have the gear you want. In my case I use my cameras for other stuff like wildlife photography so my big Sigma is useful for more than just hookers but it still took me years to collect my lenses. Don't say you don't have money. Get the money and then you'll have it. You don't necessarily need fast lenses either. Shoot shitty noisy images for a couple years while you save up for the good gear. Then you'll be better at it when you finally have the kit you need.
