I've been trying to DSLR scan my films for some time, for cheap. I DIYed a lamp from single, very bright COB LED and I had a lot of problems with vignetting. I made anoher one, this time using 5 long and much weaker LEDs and it worked! The total cost of the second lamp was ~$30 (first was like $5) and I can get 12-14 Mp files after cropping. If you are struggling with the same problems, I can provide more details.
It's great news for me, because now I can think of developing b&w film, something I wanted to do since I started analog photography. Pic related is one of the first. I've uploaded it as big as I could, so you can see the quality or the lack of it. There's still stuff to work out, like proper exposure and the best aperture (this was taken at f/11) and fucking dust. I hate cleaning slides already.
