I have a couple rolls of old east german (ORWO) and soviet (Svema) slide films and colour negatives, but both use old discontinued processes and developed in c41 or e6 result in next to no colour.
Should I expend the money and effort to pay extra to have a lab try and develop them as intended, in colour, or am I better off using B/W chemistry and using them as expendable cheap B/W films with a possibly pisspoor contrast etc? On one hand there's the lomo-ish allure of heavily expired colour-shifted old film, on the other I'm not sure it's worth the cost and effort for the expected result.
Has anyone here ever worked with either orwo slide or svema color neg films? Or has anyone ever developed e6 or c41 films with b/w chem as b/w negs? Would appreciate to hear about your experience with that.
