Looking at the reviews, the original Air 2 seems to be performing amazingly well image-wise already, for a sensor that small. On par with the current Pro. Tbh for now I'm even happy with my Mini 2 when it's at base iso, though 12 Mp isn't enough for large detailed prints and doesn't leave room for cropping. I'm new to drones though, so maybe others have different appetites.
