Neither fit in a pocket, and the weight savings of the PEN aren't enough for comfortably carrying in a large coat or cargo shorts, unless you're fine with your clothing shifting and bouncing in one direction all the time. The lightest ones are easily several times heavier than film cameras of similar sizes. They're fat and dense.
Let's not even get into durability and bring able to survive bumps, knocks, or accidental drops. And drowning. And burning.
For a superficial gain in compactness, it gives up way too much in practically every category. It's a poor set of trade-offs.
