just before iPods hit the market I got pickerel for Christmas and it was THE FIRST TIME I could take music with me. This CD player could sit in my jacket pocket, sideways, upside down, whatever and it would play perfectly. I once dropped it on the floor and it opened and CD fell out and because the digital buffer was so good it kept playing uninterrupted long enough for me to put the CD back in, get up to speed, find its place, and seamlessly keep playing.
For a kid who used to have to sit at his desk to listen to CDs this was revolutionary. 20 years later I still own it and it's still just as good as the day I got it.
