Nothing is killing photography though, it's thriving more today than it ever has. The misconception comes from boards like this where everyone has been shooting for less than a couple of years and sees social media site of the year or popular account or person of the week as somehow lowering the standards for the rest when the opposite tends to be true as these accounts are nothing more than an entry point for new photographers
