These are the elements that I believe make this a good photograph..
Super sharp and well exposed image, simplicity/not busy but still has beautiful elements, captures a story/very meaningful moment for me, a composition that both adds to the quality of the image by enhancing "pop" and makes the eye flow very naturally through each element of the image. The height/angle of camera makes it feel like you're sitting next to dog as well.
Most of what I am describing was intentional and pre-visualized to create a desired image. I was half standing in the water to capture this image.
I guess the one thing I wish I did better was get dog's face in a slightly better profile. It looks a little goofy, but I don't think it's so bad it doesn't work. I was more focused on timing the vulture to be in the right spot than his face profile.
