the AF is surprisingly very quick too and very accurate on the smallest detail.
it's a SLR so you can see when the focused point in the VF.
i sometimes manually switch focus until it really gets blurry then hit the AF button
and it nails the focus

you can also switch both AF & MF on and use them both the same time
