Their menus suck, they have poor autofocus adapter support, lack lens profiles for new lenses, and are a little slow to focus compared to a newer body.
If you want a cheap body you can bring everywhere and not worry about breaking, go for it though. NEX-3 w/ 16mm is a pretty awesome combo and costs like $150 max.
