I was going through some of my Grandfathers things trying to figure out what all he has and what we're going to do with it when he passes and I found a Nikon FE put up in a closet. It's in great shape, he says he bought it new and only used it a handfull of times, but there are a few specs of something on the sensor. Local camera shop wont touch film cameras, what would my next best avenue be for getting it cleaned? I took a Q-tip and very lightly brushed the dust off of the mirror and sensor. Also, There seems to have been some foam pads at the top of the body cavity, but they dry rotted and fell out. Do I need to get those replaced before I try to use the camera?
