I've had the D70, and I still have the D80. D70 is so ancient that it is not worth the money. D80 is much more modern and still holds it's own for typical hobbyist use, and it's pretty cheap too. Pic related, recen-ish snap with the D80 and the old 18-55 vr kit lens.
