>>4230345>What motivates you to take pics? The fact that if I don't I'll end up in the street and have nothing to eat.
Context:
I always wanted to create art through photography, no matter if it's through portraits, nature, abstract shapes, minimalism, candid shots or fashion, I didn't care, I always had an eye for art and I absolutely loved photography, so why not put the two together?! Right?! That's a fucking amazing idea. So many famous photographers did it even back then, 50+ years ago, so I can for sure do it now! - or so I thought... What I didn't know is that art means jack shit nowadays and art doesn't sell... Global IQ has dropped down (no, IQ has not risen, people are actually dumber) and the number of people who will pay for your art has dropped a hundred times over.
So when I finally saved up the 15 grand to buy everything I need and when I finally quit my job, I very quickly realized the situation and the current mental state of people nowadays and fell right into the ''blue collar'' aka. ''money chaser'' photographer never-ending pit and was at first forced to do literally anything that got me paid... Yes, this means ''professionally'' taking snapshits for money by doing basic ''''creative'''' portraiture, annoying weddings, events and taking pictures of peoples businesses and properties... Because for photographers like me, with no jew connections to Hasselblad or PhaseOne, snapshits pay WAY MORE than art. Even women... Even they prefer the snapshitty, blurred out basic and bland shots over setting up the perfect shot and creating art - but then again, I guess that's the difference between (to me inaccessible) high end models and all other women, however my point still stands.
So now couple years later and a billion snapshits later, I've finally managed to stabilize my photography and clientele and am now somehow surviving on doing only portraiture - Yes, I'm still forced to take snapshits but at least it's only portraits now... pic related
