Yeah I guess if you don't have the money for it to begin with you'd baby it and have it as a shelf queen, inadvertently damaging it from disuse. At that point it comes down to the age old saying of staying within your means. Go for the SQ-Ai; if you can only afford the 'japcrap' stick to that. You shouldn't baby or be worried about a tool. I shot the Hasselblad for a week after I fell into the ocean with the entire kit. Sure I stayed up all night firing the shutter it make sure it didn't seize but it still worked.
