Heard good things about using metal reels instead of the plastic paterson ones since the ball bearings rust and scratch your film (which I've been having a problem with lately). Went and ordered some metal ones and when they arrived I realised I should have done some research since the plastic part you put through the paterson reels don't fit in the metal reels.
Is there a way to use them in the paterson tanks? I'm assuming if you don't have that middle plastic bit the tank won't be light tight.
