Probably my best gearfagging decision was getting the 31/1.8 and 77/1.8 limiteds used like two and a half years ago, when a Pentax full frame was still regarded as vaporware on a Duke Nukem Forever scale. I'm thinking of getting that big bug-eyed Samyang hyper-wide. The 15-30/2.8 looks nice but I don't have enough money left over for it, and the Samyang wide angles have a reputation for (assuming you get a decent copy) being good at nighttime starscapes. Which is why I ordered a K-1, I'm going out to the western US this fall and I'll have dark skies with mountains around. I thought it'd take a few more months to arrive, especially after that earthquake.

Some first-day thoughts: The LCD overlay thing in the viewfinder is really nice. The control dials are all really stiffly sprung - I'm surprised they even saw the need to put a lock on the mode dial. Viewfinder focus confirmation with manual lenses works well, like you'd expect. Cable release uses the same non-proprietary connector as my K-50. If you ask it to spit out a jpeg, it'll give you something Ken Rockwell-tier by default. The mirror and shutter seemed noticeably quieter than my K-50, which surprised me.
