Trying to move off my kit lens on my a6100, keep finding myself wishing it had a longer focal length when trying to photograph wildlife and other subjects that are inaccessible to just getting closer to them, but I would prefer not to have to constantly switch lenses when out and about traveling so versatility is a focus
After several days of maddening research of numerous lenses I've boiled my choices down to a couple of them
Sony E PZ 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS, optically superior (but not by a large amount) of its line and the tamron, but also a lot more expensive and difficult to find used
and Tamron 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III VC, only 399$ new which is quite nicely cheap, I do worry for its autofocus performance since I see mentions of it from user reviews
so which one should I go for? definitely don't mind looking at other lenses as long as they're similarly versatile and aren't difficult to find under 550, planning on keeping the lens as my primary for a long time
also planning on buying a nice fast prime lens for when I know I'm going to take indoor shots for a while but that comes later
