>>3336532> 1. What’s been your experience with Leica cameras?I've been shooting 35mm with an M4-2 for a while, recently decided to swap my FF Sony for an M9 since I was just shooting adapted M-mount lenses anyway.
> 2. For those of you who’ve owned one, did the camera impact your photos or your experience of taking photos?Just a more pleasurable shooting experience. The M9 in particular has been a joy for me since there's really nothing like it out there. I've spent time with Fuji and Sony bodies and everything else just didn't feel as natural for me. They're definitely not for everyone, but I was more than happy to pare the feature set down to the bare essentials.
> 3. What’s one thing people should know about owning and using a Leica?Everything you could possibly ever want to know about them is spread across all the forums old men post on.
> 4. What was the buying experience like? Was it worth the (presumed) investment?Buying experience was the same as any other gear I've bought. I would have preferred (given the money involved) to have bought the digital one through an online dealer with a warranty, but in the end I got impatient and just went to eBay.
Whether it's worth the investment or not is entirely subjective, but I'm planning to shoot both bodies for a long time.
One piece of advice is that they're some of the only cameras that actually begin to look better with visible wear, so don't shy away from listings with coded language like "user condition," people tend to shoot these things in the street not the jungle, it's going to be mechanically solid 9 times out of 10.
