I just bought the DP2M. Using it in tandem with a viewfinder (Like the 0.7x 40mm Voigtlander one) seems like the best way to eek more battery life out of the camera.
The thing I like about the camera is that it produces images that are literally representative in terms of detail rendition. No bullshit bayer colour smearing, no x-trans detail smearing and speckling (after having used x-trans for 2 years, I'm overwhelmed by how fake and unreal the detail looks), completely natural images that require no sharpening or contrast enhancements of any kind are produced from wide open, in a neat package.
The battery thing is a thorn, but they're hardly expensive.
Btw, there's a converter available online that makes the files into DNG's, which in tandem with exiftools and a batch file makes it almost as painless as any other camera to develop raws, although I admit it takes a bit of time to do the dng conversion.
Anyone saying they've not seen a good picture taken with a DP2M should have a look at the camera pool on Flickr, especially landscapes, there are stunning shots that take advantage of the sharpness afforded by both lens and sensor.
Picture included is a 100% crop at f/6.3
