I've been in the market for a new monitor for awhile now and have done a bit of research. I am currently using an Asus 144hz TN monitor from 2013 and a cheap Acer IPS monitor. I am so sick and tired of multi monitor setups because of minor annoyances. For example, if I want to watch a stream or video on my second monitor and play a game on the first monitor, the FPS of the 144hz monitor drops to 60 unless I minimize whatever I am watching on the second. Second of all they don't align very well and the second monitor is on it's own stand taking up a lot of desk space compared to first which I have mounted to an ergo-arm.
My main issue in finding a monitor is that I do still play games, so I want at least 100hz with Freesync or G-Sync. After doing a lot of comparisons, I was thinking about picking up the 49" Samsung Curved Ultrawide 1440p 120hz Monitor with a VA panel. I don't particularly have any issues with my workflow on my current setup but the dual monitors at mixed refresh rates are killing me. I currently just do Portrait and Real Estate photography but may soon be moving into Video Editing as well. It seems this panel is the best of both worlds for me.
Any thoughts or other recommendations I should look into before purchasing?
