Of course the TC-1 is a beautiful object and a nice camera to use but it just doesn't offer enough value to justify that high price tag when you can get similar results and user experience with a camera that costs like 1/5th of the price.
Also, the collectors go nuts for anything that is rare, weird and/or expensive, even though the camera in question itself wouldn't really even be that good. So this way a mediocre camera can become a cult item that costs way more than it should based on its performance. Because of this cult status, the people who would actually want to use that camera can't afford to buy it.
