not only that, but negative film has amazing exposure latitude, you can over expose it by several stops and it'll still look great. so even if you're not sure how to expose exactly, just overexpose it and most likely it'll be safe
negative film is a lot more forgiving that you think. you can also try simulating the film shooting experience on your dslr before actually getting a film camera, see if you can handle it or not
