I have a Sony A77. I know it's old, but I don't photograph that much at this time.
I also have a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 and a Tamron 60mm f/2 Macro, and these two lenses have horrible auto-focus. They are pretty accurate, but they will almost always hunt for 1-2 seconds, so any action at all is a crapshoot.
I also have a Sony 55-200mm f/4-5.6, which has no auto-focus built-in, but the A77 has it built in, so I use that. It's rather noisy, but it's pretty snappy and on point.
I'd like to know why the hell the built-in auto-focus on my A77 appears to be better than the auto-focus built specifically for the aforementioned lenses, and if there could possibly be a way to improve it, or possibly override the lenses' auto-focus.
