>>3823293Check the histogram when you're scanning. You can leave the black point at zero so that it gets as much detail as possible from the shadows. Then you can get the rest of the way there to a correct brightness by just adjusting the white point and midpoint. It isn't a big deal that your scan is flat after the first scan, usually you can brighten it up the rest of the way in lightroom.
