>>3614975I have a pricing question and I was hoping you guys could possibly help me out.
(I'm Canadian, so this may have an impact on numbers).
>Get hired to film and produce a video on a large science symposium by some top researchers>I'm a one-man team so I charged them just $2700CAD for everything>They like my work and want to work with me more>Fast forward over a year later>I get called in by these same researchers, they want a large series since they just discovered a new drug>Want me to come at it from multiple angles and produce multiple videos for various audiences>Ask me to come up with "what I can do if I had unlimited budget">Go home and work on a proposal>Come back with an extremely detailed sheet describing roughly 10 videos, and also include a rough script for one and shot lists, along with other details that would help them understand>I don't know what I should charge them, howeverI'm still relatively new in this field, so this is why I'm unsure of pricing yet. Do I go in and say "Since 1 video was ~$3000, 10 videos will be 10x that. So ~$30,000"?
Or is that ridiculous? Should I go higher? I figure for a large project like this I won't be able to do it all myself so I would have to hire second operators and perhaps even editors if it comes to that. I've never asked for a large amount of money like this before (I'm sure you anons have asked for far larger sums, but this is uncharted territory for me), which makes me a little unsure.
Hopefully you guys have some input that can help me out. Thanks in advance.
