Morning /p/! Great to see some comments on these.
>>2946862Thanks Eddward. Provia seems to render red quite nicely! I'm definitely wanting to shoot more portraits. I'm hoping in the end I have a series of ~30-40 images with hopefully 25% of them being portraits.
>>2946871I think thus far these images are lacking that. I think the Japanese 'vibe' or whatever will become more apparent as I shoot more of the neighborhood streets and people who live there. You're right, as is these are just photos of an industrial area that happens to be in Japan. Not an anime-fag but recommend me something and I'll check it out!
>>2946909Cool, thanks for your comment about those two photos. I agree the comps could be better. I spent 5 minutes trying to compose
>>2946829 and in the end wasn't satisfied but fired the frame anyway. I'll probably revisit and try again as I think the scene is interesting.
>>2946914Cheers for your comments! So far
>>2946826 is one of the few images that I posted that I could see remaining in the series in its final iteration. I'm glad to hear about you having a similar experience in Japan and I agree more people should understand/see this side of Japan. Too many people think all of Japan is like Tokyo or Kyoto when in reality those types of 'scenic' locations make up a very small percentage of what you see when you travel around Japan. It's like thinking America is LA, New York, the Rockies, and the Grand Canyon.
>>2946915"All you ever see of Japan is temples, geisha, and downtown Tokyo. Here's some stuff that you would see should you happen to get off the Shinkansen between epicenters of tourism. This is where some of Japan's biggest manufacturing companies produce automobiles, electronic components, and textiles; paying salaries and helping the country to have the third largest GDP in the world." Better?
