The first telephoto lens I ever used was the 55-250 on my 1300D. I used it for absolutely everything because it was all I could afford and was much better than the kit 18-55. Since then I've upgraded bodies and bought more lenses since I can now afford to. I'm comfortable with my 70-200 2.8 to do just about anything (given I have enough space) since I'd been using a 55-250 on a crop sensor since I first started getting into photography.
I use it for street photography, I use it for portraits, taking photos of cars, though I haven't used it for landscapes yet, but I like what my 55-250 could achieve so I can assume the 70-200 can only be better.
