My father just sent me a photo he made in '89 or early '90s to show me his last motorcycle, and while the picture is far from perfect it has a charm I can't describe. I tried understanding why and I realized all the colors are waaaay off, probably due to the cheap film he used at the time. I can't understand if I like it for some misplaced nostalgia I'm not even entitled to, or if those weird colors are actually pleasant. Is it just me or those "bad" colors are actually good? All the phones and TV and monitors advertise how fucking great and perfect and accurate their colors are, I assume cameras too, and yet I stare at this picture and think I like it because of its colors. Is film photography about something like this or this is just a bad photo made on bad film and I'm just looking at it through rose tinted glasses?
