phones do too much to photos (imo), i can turn off sharpening and denoising on my phone (i leave denoising on, because the phone jpegs are useful for quickly sending something where quality is not important, and denoising makes photos much smaller, the raw naturally is not affected by any such settings), but it will still apply it's gaudy colours, unrealistic contrast, and whatever else to the photos
they make the photos "pop" so to speak, but they don't look much like how the scene really looked in real life. pic related, top is my phone jpeg, and the bottom is a lightly edited raw which looks much more like how it actually looked
