In the world of acoustic guitars, manufacturer preference aside, you can purchase something good enough to satisfy most demanding professionals, that will still be playable after you're dead, for 800 bucks - the Yamaha LL16, which features solid spruce top and solid rosewood or mahogany back and sides. Once Yamaha adds scalloped bracing to future models, as it has already done to its cheaper cousin, the FG800, widely considered the best entry-level guitar in the world, the LL16 will be as good as any pricier model, to my ears. Certainly more desirable to me than a 30k luthier built model that I'll be afraid to stratch with my pick while strumming. But if you can't discern subtle differences, the FG800 could be a joy for the rest of your life.
The FG800 costs $200 new.
I'm new to photography. What's the closest thing to the LL16? If it's too expensive, what's the closest thing to the FG800? I realize electronics don't work the same way, but an approximation would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
